Apart from bridging the gap between the stars, this spaceship managed to (re)unite generations of black musicians, merging funk, jazz & hip hop. On top of that, before reaching the masses, it taught a whole new generation of white girls & boys - myself included - how to become b-boys & fly girls.
Once again: music connecting cultures.
With the video raising quite as many brows as the amount of ears zapped by the music, even MTV could not resist .. to get down
... and thus became written: history.
