During times when humanity seems to divide itself in two corners every turn one may take, to wage age-old holy wars, pitting our righteous against our fanatic, our true believers against our non- believers, both sides usually equally devout and stubborn, ...
during such times, when we tend to bombard one another to bits with propaganda to fuel the dividing fire by putting the trusty "us vs them" motto to practice, and both sides usually quite violently so, ...
during such times, when even fundamentalist scienticians seem to succumb to the manifold process of propagating dogmatic belief systems - yes - during these, our present times, we sorely need a much-welcomed wink from the third eye, the bidirectional doorway to the open mind, to support the process of paving the way towards a more pragmatic approach to catmatic belief systems; to comprehend the divisions which unite us and laugh in the face of all of them; not to take the piss at any specific belief system, but at our institutionalized religious behavior in general, lest all of us take our Selves too siriusly and loose track of learning to understand and respect one another, despite all cultural and linguistic barriers.
Whether or not we may agree on this, we have to admit it seems rather odd, that in this day and age, we still deem another equivalent member of our tribe as the sole, infallible representative of a certain divine entity of choice, as if only one of us comes equipped with the right kind of gear, customized to receive transcendental transmissions, while the rest of us trade our individual, intuitive responsibility for their guidance, and learn to offer praise to said divine entity, either silently or aloud, whilst remaining utterly convinced of its omnipresent, omniscient nature, rendering prayer quite the redundant pastime.
To ensure these words, lacking proper intonation and body language, do not come across as offending, I advise any reader not to take them personally, not to take me too siriusly and read a previous statement to take away any doubts about my personal position.
Then, let me state, here and now, for the A-side of the record, my own opinion when it comes to spirituality, showing both sides of the same Live and Let Live coin:
Every individual should enjoy the freedom to choose their own (non-)spiritual path. Every individual should let every other individual enjoy the freedom to choose their own (non-)spiritual path.
To encompass my own position: I consider my Self, here and now, a "spiritually challenged agnostic", not an atheist, because I think I cannot state any'thing' with absolute, dogmatic certainty, and choose not to justify what atheism opposes by opposing it, ... but ask me again tomorrow and you may get a different answer. For the B-side of the same record, let me wink up my current position with a statement in Wilsonian tradition:
I do not believe in "God"
and I sincerely doubt
that She believes in me either.
