... and Bob's our Uncle - node 23.004: #OMD
As blogged in War No More part Four, I have launched it into orbit before, and I will repeat it - lost mikely - yet again, after this:
To me O My Dog! serves to curse without offending any of my religious brothers and sisters*, to curse without treading on the toes of the feet attached to the leg extended by the physical shell that carries the light that shines (from) within. As for our beloved furry best friends, I laud them for settling most of their territorial disputes the old-fashioned way: by means of excellent bladder control and dropping less-atomic bombs here and there.
O My Dog - feel free to quote me on that. ( - _ ^ )
* The whole (un)witting Sun-hugging lot, whether semi-spiritual, quasi-catmatic, funloving fundamentalist, poly-atheistic or plain old traditionally dogmatic.
Of course, as the matter of facts seems to dictate, any connection of this rather modern twist of post-1984 Newspeak fnord with the advent of 2015's Dog Days rests on sheer coincidence, naturally. Perhaps Pope Wilson tuned in from the Cosmic Coincidence Control Center of The Other Order Beyond Chaos to synchronize a certain set of non-simultaneously apprehended streams of perception shifting into local focus, clearing some of the distortion caused by various reality tunnels crossing paths. Maybe.
However, speaking of Pope Bob anywave, I would like to commemorate a most interesting experience, one most interesting to me, observed and translated by the same yet not identical Robert Anton Wilson, journaled in the book Cosmic Trigger (Volume 1, mostly) with zoordinates converging on this day, fourty-two years ago, as summed up by Bob himself at DisinfoCon (2000):
"Those of you who have read my book Cosmic Trigger, you all know what happened on July 23rd, 1973. That was the day I achieved contact with an extraterrestrial from Sirius or started hallucinating like mad, depending on which way you want to look at it. I have varied between both theories over the years. But I just found out recently, since I'm a student of synchronicity - this one really struck me: July 23rd, 1973 was also the birthday of Monica Lewinsky." - click here to watch for your Self
In Maybe Logic, Bob continues about his '73 Dog Days experience:
"Around 1973 I became convinced for a while that I was receiving messages from outer space. But then a psychic reader told me that I was actually channeling an ancient Chinese philosopher. And another psychic reader told me I was channeling a medieval Irish bard. And at that time I started reading Neurology and I decided it was just my right brain talking to my left brain. And then I went to Ireland and I found out it was actually a six-foot-tall white rabbit. They call it the Púca, and the Irish know all about it. So it depends on who I'm talking to, which of these metaphors I use to explain where these weird patterns come from, that jump out of the books and take hold of the readers and change their lives. It's not me, it's a six-foot-tall white rabbit from County Kerry." - click here to watch for your Self
Never enough points of perception,
or so mote it seem.
Yet, to achieve a rather clear distinction between the map and the (f)actual territory, any reader, bearing any degree of curiosity, seems well advised to dive in headfirst and read the barking book in order to retrace some of the steps made by The Shaman, The Poet, The Mystic, The Skeptic and The Robot ... as long as one remembers to realize the map does not equal the territory, of course. Failure to do so may cause (un)certain modeltheistic effects, which, when shooting enough root, form the base for creating Belief Systems, and when one goes that far, please try to remember another quote from our Uncle Bob:
Belief is the death of intelligence.
