Enter The Outer Body
☉
“Where does my body stop and where does yours begin?”
— Mary S. Applegate, Liquid Air (Air Liquide, 1992) 🔗
Concept ⇌ Sensation
According to Schopenhauer, our sense of separateness simply exists as a result of our will to objectify, an illusory effect of our perception of time, and space. It may take an ordeal, a shock, a sacrifice to cause a breakthrough of the metaphysical realisation, that self & other indeed exist as one. Our true reality lies in the ineffable connection within all of existence.
The oriental model, encompassing this sensation, is called yoga, which translates as union or unifying — a dynamic process, not a static state. Advanced practising of asana - postures, poses - and deep meditation, leads to a transcendental state of awareness, named samadhi - blissful, direct experience of oneness.
More than anything, Art can do this ..
… and of all forms of Art
Music does this more than anything else, especially when we dance. Imagine a large crowd, dancing at a festival — one of our most familiar forms of coll-active meditation: rhythmic movement to a common pulse, synchronizing all postures, creating a shared state of oneness, a direct experience of the outer body.
Through art, music, dancing, we can transmit and receive this sensation. By direct experience, it propels us beyond the illusive barrier of the skin, as we extend spontaneously into the medium that embraces us. We move out of our steady state, into ecstatic trance, euphoria, rapture. As such, we expand into the outer body, the physique of life at large.
Entering the outer body, we feel alive — quite possibly the sensation, which we continue to chase, and crave. Like a luminous shadow, it stalks us wherever we may go, waiting to tap us on both shoulders by surprise, engulfing us with goosebumps, lifting us from our ground of being, headfirst beyond our apparent borders, boundless into bliss.

War No More - Rehash Zero: A Peace of the Pi
[ listen to the full speech here and there ]
AO+2024.3.14 - War No More - Rehash #0: A Peace of the Pi
The Fourteenth of April - 3.14 or rather Pi Day: Celebrating gladly and quite nerdishly so, and commemorating the birthday of Einstein - yes - today seems like a perfect day to commence the rehashing of previously blogged material published under the title of War No More.
Happily sharing a slice with Larry[1], whilst cheering one of Albert's less-scientific quotes, one concerning his sturdy stance on the topic of Peace:
"I am not only a pacifist, but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war, unless the people themselves refuse to go to war." - Albert Einstein, January 1931[2]
Refuse to go to war.
Nothing special, really
- merely sharing the sentiment.
In 1952, Albert Einstein received an offer to become the second president of Israel, yet respectfully declined the proposition [3], stating he liked to study the physical world, but had "neither the natural ability nor the experience to deal with human beings."[4]
When reading these and other expressions spawned by his eloquence, one may only hope today's politicians would dare to share at least a shard of such an open-minded and open-hearted attitude toward setting aside any apparent differences, embracing all similarities and achieving peace between neighbors - all neighbors, near and far, in our global village, our shared little shore under the Sun.
Browse through some more of his poems, quotes, thoughts and words, compiled by Michael Burch, at: www.thehypertexts.com/Einstein_Quotes
who may read these words,
peace to all those who may not.
Peace to all neighbors, near and far,
including those whom I forgot.
Now, .. who wants some Pi ... !?

23.808 - 808 Day 2023
23.808 🟥🟧🟨⬜️
The Roland TR-808
Rhythm Composer
From the day of its birth, at the very cusp of the Eighties, a drum machine named Roland TR "Transistor Rhythm" 808, sent shockwaves throughout the Universe, echoing beyond the furthest edge of the future. Undulating from the underground, the TR-808 managed to revolutionize the way we produce music, advancing to affect our behavior by changing how we dance and dress up to get down, thereby shaking and shaping the surface of Earth.
In fact, it appears more than safe to say, that without this device our divine dance around the Sun wouldn't just look or sound different, it would exist as an alogether different world, today. Of course, with any little piece of history missing from our common past, the world would become different just as much -maybe more or less so- but that seems to move off-sync the groove.
This particularly funky contraption, and a number of other little boxes made by Roland - one of the most celebrated Japanese music machine manufacturers - helped shape the human world over the past forty-three years, more than other little boxes have. Well .. they did shape mine ... and I do like to consider myself a human, every now and when - ergo: cheers to an all-time favorite drum machine, the Roland TR-808!
Have a ❤️🧡💛🤍 #808day!

AO+2023.07.23 - A Barking Sunday Afternoon
Greenthings Fellow Maybeings - kin, kit and kaboodle of the A∴ B∴ Cadre of D∴ Excommunicates! May the probaballistic processing of doubly-slit wavicles interacting
between luscious layers of rectangular pasta sheets dawn on us all, as we unite in rejoice, bathing and blithely so, in the light of Sirius rising! Let your Golden Apples rrolll!
On this very day, the 23rd of July, a quint of decades ago, Cosmic Scripture teaches us true disbelievers, Pope Bob XXIII achieved contact with an extraterrestrial entity from the Dog Star, “or,” in his own words, “started hallucinating like mad,” overheard his brain's right hemisphere conversing with the left, channeled an ancient Chinese philosopher, channeled a medieval Irish bard, or simply enjoyed a surprise visit from the Púca. Whether or not any, all or none of the above may indeed have happened the way Bob conveyed throughout the years, let us take the canine manifestation down to Earth to uncover what may have sprouted from the Dog Star Seed, planted in the fertile and well-myceliated topsoil of my cerebral backyard.
Shall we?
Then follow me.
After excommunicating me, during a zap-by bump-in hang-out on the Astral Plane, Pope Bob gifted me Maera, an adorable Sirian pedigree with a luminous leash, and told me to “Take this pup for a walk!” Feeling more like a cat-person, but not at all too dogmatic about it, I decided to stay the catmatic course and awaken the dog-person in me. And so, Bob and I parted (amicably!) and I started my (calamity-free!) descension to the sparkling shores of Assiah, with a yet undomesticated interstellar pooch.
Ever since that faithless time, I adapted a new expression to proclaim my absolute astonishment at the sight of Maera's luminescent excrements, and to compensate for the ineffable nature of the accompanying olfactory sensations (no, not necessarily pungent, just .. well ... weird). So yes, a dear new cheer, I have consequently grown accustomed to appreciate as a lighthearted counterweight to a presumably well-known, frequently heard because overly used exclamation; a phrase, expressing both shock and awe, to serve as an outcry with a cosmic wink, uttered without offending any of our religious brothers and sisters*, to curse without treading the toes of the feet attached to the leg extended by the physical shell that carries the light that shines frrom withinnn ...
Oh My Dog!
Universally applicable - talks the dog, walks the dog - an ideal steal, feel free to use it, as lots already have and others most likely will - maybe.
* As for our aforementioned religious relatives - yes indeed, the whole Sun-hugging lot, as such witting or not, whether semi-spiritual, quasi-catmatic, fun-loving fundamentalist, poly-atheistic, syncretomimetic or plain old traditionally dogmatic: when even the easily offended seem to get the joke, perhaps also the most brittle amongst snowflakes may chuckle - then again, who knows.
Yet in case of dealing with certain caninophilous entities, the ostensibly ubiquitous, high second-circuit-sensitivity type, we may always choose to clean up our language - a bit - by initialating said phrase as OMD! Or, when posting on social media, we may add one of the all too familiar symbols of the epoch, in this case, completing as such: #OMD
Divertively, the latter acronymic device stands for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, the British synthpop band. Their seminal 1980 anti-war song Enola Gay, refers to the winged superfortress which carried and dropped the first of the only two atomic bombs ever used in recorded history of domesticated primate warfare, on the 6ixth of August, 1945.
Summarizing that fateful day: a gun-type nuclear fission device, baptized Little Boy, containing 64 kilos of 89% enriched Uranium-235, attained critical mass whilst in free-fall. This produced a little less than 800 grams of fissile material, of which, ultimately, less than one gram transmuted into approximately 63 terajoule of energy, according to the world-famous mass-energy-equivalence equation E = mc², an amount equaling a yield of 15 kilotons of TNT. Detonating 580 meters above the ground, this little bomb transformed into a monstrous fireball, effectively flattening the city of Hiroshima, killing a multitude of civilians and wrapping Earth in one of, if not the darkest man-made shadows to date.
Siddharta sighed, and Albert wept.
Every phenomenon arising in the shadow of Nuit, abides by the principle of interdependent causation. And so, parallel to the production of said weapon of mass destruction (WOMD), a new work of marvellous beauty (WOMB) came into existence - not merely in accord with synchronicity, but as serendipity by itself: in Basel, Switzerland, in 1943, Dr Albert Hofmann gave birth to LSD, the spiritual antidote to the atom bomb.
The chronicles of Hofmann's wunderkind come to pass under different headlines. Rest assured, LSD did cross reality tunnels with RAW and quite plentifully so. On June 6, 1973, thirty years after its birth, it would assist him during the invoking of the Holy Guardian Angel - a ritual he performed with great success and a broad and blissful array of lasting results; the same ritual he repeated, six weeks later, the night before (eldritch organ, ominous chords) July 23.
As stated in at least two of his books, he did so "without drugs", but this time the outcome would prove less generic and more specific: making contact, leading all the way to Sirius and back, leaving traces all over the galactic freeway and flashbacks lasting happily ever after. Whether or not RAW did sample from the toolkit of psychoactivity, seems insignificant compared to the outrageously contagious, creative effect he caused by rippling the spacetime continuum, as he pulled the cosmic trigger.
Woof. (Yeah.)
And, as for throwing our beloved domesticated fur-legged fnord family members anything but a trivial bone: I laud them for settling most of their territorial squabbling the old-fashioned way, meaning by means of exquisite bladder control and dropping less-atomic bombs here and there - doing so, mostly before opting in favor of other obvious second circuit tactics, like growling and barking while standing on their hind legs.
Yielding, finally, to my own two barking dogs, completing this winding turn on the inward spiralling staircase towards Maybe Day ’23,
with my final step, I unleash Maera and rise to toast:
raise those brandies,
light them blunts,
launch your lasagna!
Happy Birthday Monica!

April 19 - Bicycle Day Turns 75
AO +2018, April 19 ☉ The 75th Anniversary Of Bicycle Day
AO +1943, April 16 - Sunrise Over Serendipity Day
Whilst quite a large part of the World tore its Self into smaller pieces to draw new lines on the map -once again, for the sake of power, by the rule of greed- a fungus of certain infamy, felt the shunning of her offspring had lasted long enough after its birth in 1938. Therefore, she sent her child back to Sandoz Laboratories in Basel, Switzerland, to communicate with the doctor responsible for its delivery, five years earlier, when and where her baby first saw light on Earth.
Their initial contact, then and there in the lab, left the doctor feeling confused to such a degree, that he could not focus on or continue with his work. He returned to his home and, after regaining a relaxed state of mind, became moderately hypnotized by the visual aspects of the lingering transmission, which mesmerized him for a couple of hours.
When his ego resumed consciousness control behind the dashboard of his mental processing unit, the doctor, who actually had a professional foreground in chemical sciences, thought he had actually enjoyed quite a pleasant experience, due to an unsolicited intoxication. In fact, at that time he gathered he had maintained a less-than-perfect level of sterility procedures at the lab; that he must have unwittingly ingested a minute amount of the substance he had felt to reinvestigate that day. It would take quite a while before both sides of the nondual nature of their first contact would dawn on him. Until that time, it would appear to him a serendipitous event had occurred.
From the human perspective of a materialistic individual, this particular substance, the offspring of said infamous fungus, would soon become a renowned tool -the most powerful of its kind to date- to explore the inner realms of the Terran psyche. Some of us consider it a spiritual antiseptic, whereas others may even refer to it as an evolutionary counterweight to maintain the dynamic balance of Nature during the creation of a device of destruction, conceived in the same era, on the warfaring side of the globe. ... Such peculiar ways the Universe finds to equilibrate its Self.
In this historical play, Albert Hofmann performs the role of the doctor; Claviceps Purpurea, also known as Mother of Rye or Mutterkorn, plays the part of the zealous fungus. Their "Sorgenkind" bears the name LSD.
AO +1943, April 19 - A Cautious Pinch Of Psychedelic
Not quite content with the result of their first encounter, as her child had obviously not spoken loud and clear enough to become fully and unequivocally understood by the doctor and therefore did not receive the essential attention it deserved, Mother of Rye arranged for a second meeting, three days later.
The whispering echo of her voice presented Dr Hofmann with the deliberated decision to self-prescribe the first dose of LSD, in order to enable the two to make closer acquaintance. Easily convinced by the vivid memory of his recent pleasance, the scientist reasoned that by consciously repeating the experiment, it should become establissed with certainty whether or not the serendipitous encounter between his research chemical and his self had indeed happened accidental.
The self-administered "cautious dose" -250 micrograms, in retrofact- proved not as small as Hofmann had expected. Not quite, not by far. Little did he foresee about the friendly onslaught of chaos at his very fingertips, screaming in eager silence. Yet as soon as he felt inebriated by the initial effects, he laid down his work and asked his assistant to accompany him on his bike ride home, as it seemed unsafe to him to head out on the road by himself.
Moments later, looking over his shoulder whilst biking, he could see Mother of Rye, fading into the distance, waving with a wide smile and a satisfied sigh, as she knew she had accomplished her Great Work. Finally her child made its way into the wide, wild World.
The trip that followed wrote history and its effects resonate throughout spacetime, far beyond here and now. This date, April 19, has become known around the globe as Bicycle Day - the annual cerebralation* of Dr Hofmann's serendipitous discovery and the quintessential bike ride.

Yes.
In 1943 Albert Hofmann discovered
LSD
judged by some (mostly those who have never tried it) as one of the most dangerous substances known to man, whereas some saw and some others still see it as “a spiritual antidote to the atom bomb”, a device developed nearly simultaneously, deep down in that trough, during the 1940s.
Considering all ups and downs, Hofmann initially gave his discovery the nickname Sorgenkind, or "Problem Child", but eventually came full circle to recognize the Wunderkind he fathered.

Now, as we cerebralate the 75th anniversary of its discovery, whilst fear-mongering headlines seem to prefer to relapse to instilling fear - fear for one another, fear for another world war - yet humanity clearly surfs the rising crest of the Psychedelic Renaissance, the antidote continues to gain momentum and potential. Observing the latter development and this year's Bicycle Day festivities, two main events top the charts of this week's agenda:

Après-Bicyclette

2017, April 19+7, Après-Bicyclette
Une semaine après notre Grand Départ annuel ...
One week after crossing the starting line of our annual Bicycle Day cerebralations, we make our aumward return. At the finish, holding out a black and white checkered blotter flag, Saint Albert Uncle Hofmann welcomes us. Our outward spiraling wheels slowly stop spinning as we come down to a halt next to him, flagging down our bikes.
After a wide and warm embrace, he holds us softly by the shoulders, looks us in the eye and smiles, then turns to our side, joins us as our gaze floats out over the Earth's plane stretching out in front of us, pauses to breathe, then speaking sincere words of swissdom ...
"Alienation from nature and the loss of the experience of being part of the living creation is the greatest tragedy of our materialistic era. It is the causative reason for ecological devastation and climate change.
Therefore I attribute absolute highest importance to consciousness change. I regard psychedelics as catalyzers for this. They are tools which are guiding our perception toward other deeper areas of our human existence, so that we again become aware of our spiritual essence. Psychedelic experiences in a safe setting can help our consciousness open up to this sensation of connection and of being one with nature.
LSD and related substances are not drugs in the usual sense, but are part of the sacred substances, which have been used for thousand of years in ritual settings. The classic psychedelics like LSD, Psilocybin and Mescaline are characterized by the fact that they are neither toxic nor addictive. It is my great concern to separate psychedelics from the ongoing debates about drugs, and to highlight the tremendous potential inherent to these substances for self-awareness, as an adjunct in therapy, and for fundamental research into the human mind.
It is my wish that a modern Eleusis will emerge, in which seeking humans can learn to have transcendent experiences with sacred substances in a safe setting. I am convinced that these soul-opening, mind-revealing substances will find their appropriate place in our society and our culture."

2017, April 19 - Bicycle Day
1943, April 19 - Not completely content with the result of their first encounter, three days earlier, as her child had not spoken loud and clear enough to become fully and unequivocally understood by the doctor and therefore did not receive the essential attention it deserved, Mother of Rye arranged for a second meeting, three days later.
The whispering echo of her voice presented Dr Hofmann with the deliberated decision to self-prescribe a small dose of LSD, in order to enable the two to make closer acquaintance. Easily convinced by the vivid memory of his recent pleasance, the scientist reasoned that by consciously repeating the experiment, it should become establissed with certainty whether or not the previous serendipitous encounter between his research chemical and his self had indeed been accidental.
The self-administered "cautious dosis" -250 micrograms, in retrofact- proved not as small as Hofmann had expected. Not quite, not by far. Little did he foresee about the friendly onslaught of chaos at his very fingertips, screaming in eager silence. Yet as soon as he felt inebriated by the initial effects, he laid down his work and asked his assistant to accompany him on his bikeride home, as it seemed unsafe to him to head out on the road by himself.
Moments later, looking over his shoulder whilst biking, he could see Mother of Rye, fading into the distance, waving with a wide smile and a satisfied sigh, as she knew she had accomplished her Great Work.
The trip that followed wrote history and its effects resonate throughout spacetime, far beyond here and now. This date, April 19, has become known around the globe as Bicycle Day - the annual cerebralation* of Albert Hofmann's Serendipity.

freakuently unanswered questions
? what is Satyr
! in ancient times, Satyr roamed the Eleusinian forests as the horned and horny messenger of Dionysos - the god of ritual intoxication - who dispatched him to mesmerize the youth of nearby villages with the musical magic of his flute, and made them dance till broad daylight.
? where is Satyr
! in our recent past, Satyr reincarnated in the concrete jungle of Amsterdam as a DJ. At age ten, he recorded his first mix, displaying his love for early hip hop and electro, and soon his tapes were in high demand. After the Second Summer Of Love, he got turned on by new dimensions of synthetic sound and ventured into the realms of ambient, acid-house, techno and trance music, never looking back ever since.
? does he still play flute
! the Panflute has become an artefact in captivity, held safe and sound in the archeological archive of the Vatican. Yet, since them high-n-mighty early 1990s, Satyr became increasingly skilled as a player of the SL & CDJ instruments, spinning various styles of musica eclectronica, embracing a wide range of the bpm spectrum with remarkable sparkle.
Notoriously difficult to pigeonhole yet sharply focused on and specialized in ambient, chillout, psytrance & deep atmospheric techno; entertaining events for 5 to 50.000 people, by serving his spicy melange of clean cuts and dirty grooves, mixing it down and grinding it up from raw to smooth.
A few memorable events ecstasized by Satyr:
Amsterdam Dance Event (NL), Atmosphere (Berlin), Ballonnenfeest (NL), Burning Man (USA), Club A (Sao Paulo), Dance Valley (NL), Love & Magic (Oslo), Metsafestiwaal (Finland), Pan-O-Rama Festival (La Gomera), The Pi Club (Berlin), Q-Base (Germany), Senseblender Festival (Belgium), Universo Paralello (Bahia / Brazil), VooV Experience (Germany), and many more in Belgium, Brazil, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, USA & all over The Netherlands.*
