Sollemnitas Brumalis - Ritual Cerebralation of the Winter Solstice
Slightly paraphrasing the past, the Brumalia were the Bacchian festivities to celebrate the return of the Sun in ancient Roman times. These were a romanized continuation of the ancient Greek rites in honor of Dionysos, which took place around the time of the December or Southern Solstice, also known as the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
How these festivities tranformed to become the cerebralation of Kris Kringle's birthday will not be discussed here and now; perhaps another place, another time. But whichever manmade metaphors we tend to mythicize, when the mind opens our eyes, we will find our annual celebrations are still revolving around this celestial event in our current times.
Breaking all of this down in simple terms, in present tense, or rather, bringing it in to here and now: the soundtrack of this year's Southern Solstice will be mixed at Siberië, this Saterday, the 21st of December - scroll down for more spacetime details.
