Throwback Thunderday - 44% On The Drops
A tribute to Trancending, the (former) weekly psytrance gathering, at Korsakoff, the (former) alternative music club under the Amsterdamp, born in last millennium's late 80s. In addition to serving their traditional blend of rock, metal, goth, drum-n-bass, industrial, ebm, techno, wave, electro and grunge, they hosted the local psychedelic trance hangout, every Thunderday night.
Today feels like a good day to re-cerebralate
with one of my mixes, recorded then and there:
44% On The Drops *
freshly squeezed and served
a stiff drop of liquid tunes
acidic, not sour
- tracklist:
01. Saiko Pod - Pling Pong (Atomic)
02. Crazy Ducks - Ducks On Mars (Morning Monster)
03. Organic Noise - White Noise (Liquid Audio Soundz)
04. Decibel - Warp Pipe (Morning Monster)

10. Penta - Looking Great (Vertigo)
11. Reality Pixie - Tripples (Morning Monster)
12. C.P.U. - A Beach In Japan **
stirred at 143 bpm
* May sound a tad distorted at certain points because someone kept fiddling with the volume on the main mixer.
** Soundcloud features a shorter cut of this mix. Download the full version here.
If you must label this music with a certain soopafreakadiscodelic tag, try psytrance, full on funky foreststyle ... or don't and simply drop in at the deep end. Blessed be with a cup of namastea, or rather ...

Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer
Without this little box our divine dance around the Sun wouldn't just look or sound differently today, it would exist as a totally different world all together. Of course, with any little piece of history missing from our common past, the world would appear different just as much -maybe more or less- but that seems beside the point. This particular one and a few other little boxes from that renowned Japanese music machine manufacturer helped shape the human world over the past 35 years more than other little boxes have. Well .. they did shape (the sound of) mine ... and I do like to consider myself a human, every now and when, 'tween time and space, ergo: cheers to an alltime favorite drum machine, the Roland TR808!
